3 Ways To Use Kaiser Rolls For Thanksgiving Leftovers

About Me
Wedding Cakes for Unique Weddings

If you're anything like me, the ideal of a traditional wedding is downright boring. I love color too much to wear white, even for one day, so we carried that theme throughout our entire celebration. Of course, our cake was a majestic purple and lavender affair with plenty of real floral accents with sparkling sugar hints. It took me a few tries to find a baker capable of making my dreams a reality, so now I'm sharing my journey to cake bliss to help others achieve their goal of throwing a truly unique wedding with a delicious and colorful centerpiece.

If you host Thanksgiving at your house, you may find yourself with a lot of leftovers. Instead of just re-creating the same turkey dinner day after day, you can transform your leftovers into a wide range of meals. Consider the use of kaiser rolls with your Thanksgiving leftovers. The round rolls feature soft middles and you can find a lot of ways to use the rolls in the kitchen.

Check out some of the unique ways to transform Thanksgiving leftovers when you purchase fresh-baked kaiser buns.

1. Turkey Soup Bowls

The soft insides of a kaiser roll make a great texture for soaking up soup broth. You can shred up leftover turkey meat to create your favorite turkey soup recipe. Thicker soups will typically work better with soup bowls. Cut out a center hole from a kaiser roll and set the cut-out part aside.

Add one scoop of soup to the bowl. Let it soak into the bread for a moment and then enjoy the soup. You can dip the cut-out part right into the soup and really soak up all the flavors. Along with soups, the same idea works with a creation like a white turkey chili.

2. Turkey Gravy Sandwiches

Recreate a Thanksgiving meal right between two sides of a kaiser roll. Cut a roll in half and add some gravy to the insides of both the top and bottom of the buns. Layer on thin slices of turkey, cheese, and other toppings like leftover stuffing. If you want a little sweetness on the sandwich, consider a dollop of cranberry sauce.

The gravy helps prevent the sandwich from being too dry and allows you to really enjoy all of the Thanksgiving flavors.

3. Baked Turkey Dippers

Use kaiser rolls to create easy sandwich dippers that family members can grab and eat. Layer turkey and cheese into the middle of a kaiser roll. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and cut the rolls into thin strips. Bake the strips until the rolls brown a little on the outside.

Set up dipping stations with options like gravy, ranch dressing, and barbecue sauce. You can easily dip the sandwiches into each sauce and enjoy the wide range of flavors that come with them. The turkey dippers allow you to try a lot of different flavors without covering a whole sandwich. Expand the dips to other options like buffalo sauce or different types of gravy.

As Thanksgiving passes, you can try out all these meal options and make the use of kaiser buns an annual tradition.
